Flowchart for Verifying and Modifying AutoQoS-Generated Configurations

AutoQoS was developed to help automate QoS configuration for common scenarios. The configuration that AutoQoS generates may not be suitable for your network. The flowchart in Figure 5-1 shows some possible paths that you might follow in using AutoQoS and verifying its auto-generated commands, as well as steps to modifying the command, if necessary.

Figure 5-1. Verify and Modify AutoQoS-Generated Configuration

The procedure can be summarized into three steps:

STEP 1.
Review the existing QoS policy, identify new requirements, and outline the modifications necessary.

STEP 2.
Modify the AutoQoS-generated configuration according to new requirements identified in Step 1.

STEP 3.
Review the new (modified) configuration.

Tip

If you modify the AutoQoS-generated configuration, and you later decide to remove the configuration with the no auto qos command, the modifications will not be removed. Only the original, unmodified commands that AutoQoS generated will be removed.
