DSP Farms
A DSP acreage is the accumulating of DSP assets accessible for conferencing, transcoding,
and MTP services. DSP farms are configured on the articulation aperture and managed by Cisco
Unified Communications Manager through SCCP.
The DSP acreage can abutment a aggregate of transcoding sessions, MTP sessions, and
conferences simultaneously. The DSP acreage maintains the DSP ability capacity locally.
Cisco Unified Communications Manager requests conferencing or transcoding services
from the gateway, which either grants or denies these requests, depending on resource
availability. The capacity of whether DSP assets are used, and which DSP assets are
used, are cellophane to Cisco Unified Communications Manager.
The DSP acreage uses the DSP assets in arrangement modules on Cisco routers to provide
voice conferencing, transcoding, and accouterments MTP services.
Consider the cartography in Figure 2-19. Prior to absolute media ability configuration, the
DSPs charge to be enabled for DSP acreage usage. The dsp casework dspfarm articulation agenda configuration
mode command allocates the DSPs to the DSP farm.
