Configuring Access Points
To view a summary of all Cisco LWAPs in the WCS database, choose Configure and then Access Points from the main page. This page is shown in Figure 6-26. From here you can add third-party APs and remove Cisco LWAPs. Figure 6-26 shows these options in the drop-down menu as Add Autonomous APs, Copy and Replace AP, and Remove APs. There is no need to add Cisco LWAPs to the WCS database. The operating system software will automatically add Cisco LWAPs as the LWAPs associate with a WLC currently in the WCS database. The All Access Points page will display the AP name, radio type, map location, controller, port, operational status, and alarm status for all access points in the WCS database.

WCS Maps—Adding a Campus Map
Cisco WCS can use real floor, building, and campus plans to view the physical and RF environments together.
To add a campus map:
STEP 1. | Ensure the map is in one of the following formats: .png, .jpg, .jpeg, or .gif. WCS will manage and resize the map to fit the working area. |
STEP 2. | Import the map from anywhere on your file system. |
STEP 3. | Click Monitor and then Maps to display the Maps page. |
STEP 4. | From the Select a command drop-down menu, choose New Campus and then click Go. This is shown in Figure 6-27.

STEP 5. | Enter the campus name and contact information, if wanted. |
STEP 6. | Browse to the campus map, as shown in Figure 6-28. Click Next to continue.

A pop-up window will appear that will allow you to complete Steps 7 and 8. |
STEP 7. | Check the Maintain Aspect Ratio box to prevent WCS from distorting the map. |
STEP 8. | Enter the horizontal and vertical span of the map in feet. Click OK to add this map to the WCS Database. WCS displays the Maps page, which will list maps in the database, map types, and campus status. The Maps page is shown in Figure 6-29.
